What Is It

Blogs (Web logs) are online journals that enable anyone to become a publisher It’s a quick and easy way to communicate with large groups of people and get immediate feedback. Today, there are more than 10 million Blogs and RSS feeds are not far behind in popularity. 

A Wiki is a collaborative Internet forum where anyone can change, update or modify content. It’s a simple way to create HTML pages, and is a very effective way to exchange information through collaborative effort. Many organizations use wikis to store documents, build common knowledge and work more efficiently. Wiki is based on the acronym “what I know, is,” which describes the data, storage and exchange basis of the technology.  It is also derived from the Hawaiian term, wiki-wiki, which means “quick”.

RSS is a technology standard for publishing content over the Internet.  It allows web publishers to easily and quickly distribute their latest updates to consumers.  Using information “feeds” and an RSS reader, you can easily subscribe to news updates, blog postings and other types of information.  The feeds continually gather the latest information for you – in one source.

Technically speaking, RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.  It is based on XML, a technology that allows easy information exchanges across applications.
