Outdoor ads such as billboards and signage are great ways to extend the reach and frequency of a campaign and increase results. There are rules for effective outdoor advertising. Remember, you don’t have much time to read the message as you’re speeding by, so limit your message to seven words or less. Also, keep your concept simple and easy to understand.
One of the limitations of outdoor advertising is that it’s tough to measure results. Most outdoor companies sell “showings,” which are a listing of how many cars drive by your sign and see your ad. But that’s no guarantee that everyone is reading your message.
