An article in this month’s B to B Magazine details how companies are increasingly turning to interactive marketing firms to help them manage the growing role of technology in the marketing process. Brand architecture, content/database integration, business intelligence, CRM, salesforce automation, lead generation systems and Web 2.0 practices are all part of the new and growing overlap between what was once the separate “silos” of marketing and IT.

If the concept of RSS is foreign, and you’re puzzled about how to get started, head over to Common Craft and review the RSS in Plain English video (also available on YouTube). It’s a useful, down-to-earth tutorial – and the visual explanations are especially effective. It might even motivate you to set up an RSS reader and start adding feeds. Last June, Sundog released a software development tool (SDRT) that mitigates some of the risks introduced through evolutionary change within a database. Since that release, the tool has received several enhancements. The most obvious is its new name LiquiBase.

Fargo (Sundog headquarters) is near the western edge of prime Minnesota lake country. There are over a hundred lakes within about an hour’s drive of town (check to the east of Fargo on Google maps). It’s always a big deal when the ice goes out here in North Country, and signals the unofficial start of spring. Saturday was the big day on Pelican Lake where we have a home.
