This is another example of how technology firms are linking advertisers with consumers who want to buy stuff faster and easier via mobile shopping or m-commerce. 
Coming on the virtual heels of the launch of the MasterCard Nearby mobile banking service, Citibank just unveiled Citi Mobile, an “on-the-go” banking cell-phone application offering similar services to its online bank offering.
Need to find the nearest ATM to refill your empty wallet? Locate a favorite merchant in an unfamiliar city? Get driving directions? A new mobile service from the card giant called MasterCard Nearby aims to help mobile users find stuff faster while on the go.
Mobile bankers, start your cell phones! Cingular Wireless (now rebranded as the new AT&T) announced this week that it has inked deals with Wachovia, Regions Financial, SunTrust and BancorpSouth, to offer mobile banking, putting consumers closer to the goal of turning their cell phones into virtual credit cards.
