GiftBox Arrives Just In Time

by

GiftBox is a simple web app that helps manage your gift giving and receiving. It’s absolutely great for a person like me because I’m one of the last minute shoppers, meaning I tend to scamper about not really having any idea what to get for anybody. Using GiftBox you keep track of gift ideas throughout the year and when gift-giving time arrives you have a list full of ideas.

You can also manage your own wishlist and keep track of gifts you need to return, although just returning them would seem to rid one of the need to track that. One feature that would add a lot of value would be a way to integrate my wishlist on other sites or at the least via a RSS feed.

With Google’s extraordinary trajectory and the stratospheric success of Apple’s iPod--itself a marvel of simplicity and, with 20 million units sold, a staggering hit--we seem to be nearing a seminal moment.

Of course the true kings of the current movement online, 37signals have their own take on the subject and I tend to agree with them. Still it is nice to see the shift in larger organizations getting some attention in mainstream press, let’s hope more large companies get on the simple train.

by

Have you ever wondered why this message appears when a page you’re looking for on the web can’t be found? I always figured it was because some developer thought that was an appropriately useful message and just left it at that. Well I was wrong. Here’s the interesting story of Room 404. Be patient, they give you a fake 404 page before you’re redirected to the story.
