Blog Captures 50-Marathon Mission
byTo follow a daunting display of physical stamina, and review a great application of a blog, head over to Endurance Is.
The blog is a daily chronicle of Dean Karnazes’ Endurance 50, his quest to run 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days. As of today, Karnazes is nearly half-way there. Already, he has endured 100-degree heat, a lingering cold and dramatic elevation changes. Along the way, he is joined by local runners (including many first-time marathoners), school groups and others in hopes of promoting physical fitness and healthy living. (Karnazes ran the Fargo Marathon course on day 11 and described it here.)
The physical demands are enough of an accomplishment, but Karnazes deserves applause for posting daily as he travels, rests and spends time in each city. He seems genuinely inspired by each day’s stories and experiences. His compelling posts have become a must-read in my RSS feeds each day – and a blog is an ideal medium for his story. Check it out.
