Even Noted Marketing Authors Can Get It Wrong
byI ran across this (may require registration) in my RSS archives the other day. It is a story in Advertising Age magazine by marketing author Al Ries. The article is dated June 18, 2007, and the topic is why the iPhone will fail. Ouch. Last I heard sales were through the roof and a third of Americans want one. I give Ries credit for going out on a pre-launch limb, but I don’t think I want him placing my bets with the oddsmakers in Vegas.
It is also interesting to note that today Apple surpassed Google in market value.
