Juggling Priorities

by

Most people have to juggle priorities at work or at home all the time. I suppose if you really want to find a way to manage your time better, you can get David Allen’s great book. Or you could read personal productivity blogs such as Merlin Mann’s, 43 Folders, or David Seah’s, Printable CEO series. However, if you really do want to juggle your priorities, maybe you should just start with Johnny Macaroni’s 8-minute online video about learning to juggle.

It turns out learning to juggle priorities is a lot like learning to juggle balls.

1. Start with one ball at a time. [Start with one task at a time.]
2. Go on to the second ball only after you have the first one handled pretty well. [Self-explanatory.]
3. Don’t get into bad juggling habits. [There does need to be a good method for juggling priorities. Find it. Practice it. Stick to it.]
4. Juggle like objects...balls, apples...pins. [Juggle your “A” priorities together...then “B”...etc.]
5. Catch the balls. [Once you start, don’t drop a priority.]
