Moola Adds a Game, Increases Booster Values
byMoola hit a milestone yesterday when the cash won by Moola players hit the $1,000,000 mark. Now that isn’t actually money paid out to players, but what they’ve won while playing. I’ve won about $10 playing the double-your-penny games, but have never cashed out and only once did I even have more than $3 in my account. I generally hover around the 8cent balance because, well to be honest, I’m a loser. In honor of the milestone, Moola is increasing the Super Boosters they award at random to include boosters of $2, $5, $9, $10, $25, $50 and $100. Boosters are Moola’s way of giving players a better chance at playing the higher levels of the games by quickly increasing your account. In the past, boosters seemed to cap out at $1.
Since writing about Moola two months ago, they’ve added a new game and the ability to create a Private Match between you and friends. I was a bit surprised to see the Private Match feature since it could facilitate organized cheating. After realizing that you would have to be a very dedicated person, along with very dedicated co-cheaters, to cheat Moola a penny at a time, I doubt they are too concerned about it. However, I’m sure somebody out there is already attempting to take Moola for every penny they have. It must be nice to have that kind of spare time on your hands.
Hi-Lo, the new game, is my favorite of the three games they offer. In Hi-Lo, you guess if the next card in a row of 10, from a standard deck of 52, will be higher or lower than the current card. You have four lives and each time you guess wrong, you lose a life and move back to where you last ‘locked’ in your progress. Locking your progress costs a life and once you have used up all of your lives, you wait to see how your opponent did. Once both players have finished, the person who got the furthest wins and collects their pennies. The thing I like most about Hi-Lo is that while there is some amount of strategy involved to beat the other player, the game itself is solely you against yourself. It’s like golf, you do the best you can do and, in the end, you hope your opponent did slightly worse. There is nothing the opponent can do to affect your gameplay.
Nobody took me up on my offer of invites the last time around, but this time I’ll throw in the exciting offer of a private game of Hi-Lo with me. I have six invites waiting to be sent, so if you’d like one, post a comment letting me know.

Hi - you say that Hi/Lo is LIKE a game of golf. But there is aspect you missed out of this game. Both player receive different deck of cards - randomly. So you have never mentioned that this is mostly luck based game - whereas whoever has a better deck of card wins. And yes - your opponent doesn’t affect your gameplay.
So let’s say you and your opponent were golfing. Your opponent was on the other side of the golf course where it was raining hard, and you were on the side where it was sunny. Who do you think is most likely to win?
I like to Ro-Sham-Bo-Fu because there’s ALOT more strategy involved. And that, the game itself doesn’t actually affect you and your opponent.
What I’m saying is, its better to play with some strategy involved - instead of none at all.
