UK Online Advertising Will Top TV Advertising in 2009
byAccording to WPP’s media operation Group M, online advertising will overtake television advertising in the UK in 2009. They also predict this will happen in Sweden this year. The report makes no prediction on when, or if, Internet advertising might overtake television in the U.S.
Group M forecasts the following media growth globally in 2008:
U.S. 3.7%
Latin America 16.3%
Western Europe 4%
Emerging Europe 17.8% (including Russia)
Asia/Pacific 10%
The Group M report said 80 percent of all new advertising money worldwide is going into either television or the Internet.
