CRM Fastest Growing Service at Omnicom
byA recent 10-Q report reveals some interesting statistics on Omnicom Group, billed as the world’s largest advertising agency holding company. For decades, advertising agencies called traditional advertising services above-the-line business and all other services as below-the-line business. That was, of course, when traditional advertising represented the bulk of their business. No more.
The 10-Q shows traditional advertising services representing only about 43 percent of Omnicom Group’s total revenues. Other services now make up the other 57 percent. One of the fastest growing areas for Omnicom Group is CRM services, which have expanded rapidly over the last several years, and now represent almost 36 percent of Omnicom’s revenues. Omnicom’s overall revenues increased 10 percent in the first quarter of 2007 and 13 percent in the second quarter. Reuters reports the company’s revenue increases were “helped by its focus on rapidly growing areas of marketing like China and the Internet.”
