Just Ask Gu Ge
byGoogle China (aka “Gu Ge") bought another 20 million Chinese users Monday with its investment in Tianya.cn--A social networking site. This play moves Google closer to its goal of catching market leader Baidu.com which has claimed 58% of the search engine market space in China (Google China currently sits around 22%).
Through this latest investment, Google (Tianya.cn) launches a Q&A site called Wenda(means “Ask and Answer"). Unfortunately, I don’t read Chinese very well so I’m not getting much from the site right now. As with most Chinese sites, the content is censored (ICP). I’m left wondering...if a government propaganda department is managing the content ("answers" in this case) of your favorite site , is that content still credible?
