In the Cloud with Salesforce.com and Google Apps
bySalesforce and Google Apps...its here! Salesforce.com and Google unveiled the next significant step in SaaS with the unity of CRM and office productivity. They call it Salesforce for Google Apps. Google’s on-demand Gmail, Calendar, Talk, Docs, spreadsheet, and presentation applications is already a best of breed suite that is threatening the dominance of Microsoft Office. The addition of an award winning CRM solution further legitimizes Google Apps as an enterprise productivity solution.
This is a natural mash-up of technologies as both companies are dedicated to offering “no software” solutions through 100% hosted and maintained applications. That means you will download nothing, purchase zero pieces of expensive hardware, and eventually retire your IT pager.
The two systems are seamlessly integrated and by the looks of it, already available to Salesforce.com customers. Salesforce also inked a major reseller agreement with Google by offering its customers the opportunity to have a single source for support and billing. Oh, and the price for all this...how about $10/user/month?
More information will be available at Salesforce.com’s YouTube Channel or inquire with Sundog. Google also produced a video to explain the offering ”In Plain English”.
