iPod-enabled wardrobe is on this year’s back-to-school list
byIt’s back to school time, and frazzled parents are busy with their shopping checklists: New backpack with a zillion pockets— check; new trendy shoes – check; fancy scientific calculator— check; and the must-have for 2008: iPod enabled jacket with five-function keypad controller discretely attached to your MP3 player—check!

Yes, it’s true. Due to high demand from tech savvy consumers, retailers are creating clothing and accessories that integrate with iPods. Marketers are expected to follow suit behind the creative clothing lines by firing up new creative concepts to help sell this new line of technologically-inspired clothing as it continues to hit the US.
Marks and Spenser (M&S), a large retailer in the UK, is capitalizing on the ever-present iPod as an opportunity to market to the hi-tech back-to-school crowd. Hot for this fall is a school uniform blazer and a winter jacket complete with Fibretronic technology which allows students to be plugged in to their ever important iPod.
No need to worry adults, the kiddies aren’t the only ones that are being taken care of. M & S has also introduced a line of men’s tailored suits with the same iPod technology that’ll set you back about $200 dollars.

So, back-to-school shoppers, get that credit card out—on top of having the coolest clothes, backpacks and shoes, it’s the iPod enabled wardrobe that will be eating away at your shopping budget.
