Marketers Go Where the People Are

by

Projected number of worldwide personal computers in 2008: One billion.
Projected number of worldwide personal computers in 2015: Two billion.
More on those statistics here.

Most of the present day PCs are already on the Web. It looks like those two billion users will be on the Net, too.

As always…
the challenge for marketers is even with two billion potential people on the Web, how do you reach even a fraction of your market segment(s) and convey your message.

As always…
it will taking creativity, ingenuity and increasingly some technical prowess. It will also pay to know Mandarin, Hindi, Portuguese and Russian considering where 775 million of those new one billion PC and Web users will be living.

As always…
money and talent to craft a compelling message and place it helps, too.

Probably the biggest question: Will it still be one Worldwide Web or will it eventually fragment like other media?
