MasterCard Launches Mobile Service For Users On The Go

Need to find the nearest ATM to refill your empty wallet? Locate a favorite merchant in an unfamiliar city?  Get driving directions? A new mobile service from the card giant called MasterCard Nearby aims to help mobile users find stuff faster while on the go.

As reported via Business Wire today, MasterCard Nearby is the card giant’s foray into mobile content and directory services. (The service was developed in partnership with go2, a provider of mobile phone directories to local businesses.)

After registering at http://www.mcnearby.com, MasterCard customers will use their mobile phones to access ATM and merchant locations, driving directions, rewards and other offers.

The content is viewed either on a mobile-friendly web site or sent to the individual’s phone via an SMS text message.

Even better, it’s a free service for cardholders of MasterCard.
