Runner Blogs About New Cross-Country Journey

by

A couple months ago, I posted about the blog that captured the remarkable journey of Dean Karnazes, the ultramarathoner who set out to run 50 marathons in 50 days in 50 states. His daily blog posts were a great way to follow his progress.

Karnazes finished his 50-state mission in early November. However, he apparently cannot kick his marathon-a-day habit.

His latest mission? Run home…from New York City…to San Francisco. More than 3,000 miles. As his blog suggests, think Forrest Gump.

On Tuesday, he was somewhere in Ohio. He ran 51 miles in 11-degree weather and sub-zero wind chills. The pipes and supplies in his motorhome are frozen solid. And yet he keeps on – planning to be home by late February. Along the way, he’s raising money for kids and speaking at schools.

The interactive “Where’s Dean?” map is here and his daily blog entries have returned at a new URL.
