With Salesforce.com continuing to expand its Force.com platform, it will become increasingly important to educate developers on possible security vulnerabilities as well as tools and methods available to help avoid falling victim to those vulnerabilities. Force.com recently introduced a new “Secure Cloud Development” section to its Developerforce site that attempts to alert developers to these issues as well as offer suggestions and tools for correcting them.
In a life-imitates-art plot resembling a scene from the movie comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, it appears that a handful of students from Maryland’s Winston Churchill High School allegedly could have used special USB-based keylogging devices to gain access to teachers’ passwords, enabling the grades of 54 students to be changed in the school’s grading system. The Washington Post has been following this story.
I hate passwords. I forget them all the time. That’s why I use “123456” as my password for everything. Although this has led to having my all the money siphoned from my bank account on several occasions, Sundog pays me half my check in Dt. Mountain Dew, so it hasn’t been too bad.
